Hagan Scholarship

The Hagan Scholarships are intended for high achieving students in need of financial assistance in order to attend college. These recipients will graduate from a public high school located in a County, in an eligible state, having fewer than 50,000 residents. Applications are available at www.hsfmo.org and must be submitted/postmarked before November 15.

 

SWCS Scholarship: Show-Me Chapter, Soil and Water Conservation Society

The SWCS Scholarship provides financial assistance to students wishing to pursue studies with a natural resource conservation orientation at properly accredited colleges or universities.

One $2000 scholarship will be awarded, with the possibility of a second, smaller scholarship. Scholarship recipients also receive a complimentary one-year membership in SWCS and the local chapter. Eligibility: This scholarship is for students who attend/graduated from an approved program of study in Missouri (as stated in Missouri statute, RSMO 167.031 - includes public, private, and home school). The student need not be a SWCS member. Applicants must be in their senior year of high school, or in a full-time undergraduate academic study. They must major in a conservation or natural resource-related field such as soil science, land use planning, forestry, wildlife management, fisheries, agricultural engineering, hydrology, rural sociology, agronomy, water management, agricultural education, or related environmental protection or resource management curricula. Applicants must attend, or plan to attend, a college or university that is properly accredited by national or regional accrediting bodies, or their equivalence. Financial need will not be a factor in selection. Applications for 2017-2018 scholarships must be postmarked by November 27.

 

2018 Most Valuable Student Scholarship

The Elks National Foundation is offering scholarship opportunities to any high school senior who is a U.S. citizen. Applications will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. Students can access applications at enf.elks.org/mvs. Completed applications must be submitted before November 27.

 

Mizzou Alumni Associations Alumni Scholars Program

This scholarship opportunity is available to students who will enroll at the University of Missouri Columbia. Students must have a 26 or higher on the ACT or rank in the top 20% of their high school graduating class. Students DO NOT have to be related to an MU graduate in order to qualify. Details about the Alumni Scholars Program are available online at http://www.mizzou.com/s/1002/alumni/interior.aspx?sid=1002&gid=1001&pgid=447 .  To apply, students must complete the MU Annual Scholarship Application. This online application must be submitted by December 15.

 

Missouri State Society Daughters of the American Revolution (MSSDAR) Scholarship

This scholarship opportunity is available to any boy or girl in the top 10% of the senior class. He or she must be a citizen of the United States and a resident of Missouri. Students must also plan to attend an accredited college or university in Missouri. Applications are due before December 9.

 

Irenen and Letta Wagy Memorial Scholarship (MSSDAR)

This scholarship opportunity is available to a young woman pursing a degree in education (teaching). She must be in the top 10% of the senior class and a citizen of the United States and a resident of Missouri. She must also plan to attend an accredited college or university in Missouri. Applications are due before December 9.

 

Roberta Capps Scholarship (MSSDAR)

This scholarship opportunity is available to a young man or woman pursing a degree in social studies/history education (teaching). Students must be citizens of the United States and residents of Missouri. He or she must also plan to attend an accredited college or university in Missouri. Applications are due before December 9.

 

 

Dorothy Poikert Memorial Scholarship (MSSDAR)

This scholarship is award to a boy or girl pursuing a degree in Business. The student must be in the top 10% of his/her graduating class, a citizen of the United States, a resident of the state of Missouri and plan s on attending an accredited college/university in Missouri. Applications are due before December 9.

 

Pike County Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Scholarship

Pike County Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers are excited to announce we have $2,000 scholarship(s) to be awarded to high school seniors who attend a Pike County, Missouri school or high school seniors who currently reside in Pike County, Missouri.  Applications are due to Bowling Green Farm Bureau office by December 15. 

 

Ed Stegner Natural Resource Scholarships

The Foundation’s Ed Stegner Natural Resource Scholarships were established to provide major financial aid to encourage and assist students in five areas of natural resource management: fisheries, forestry, wildlife, parks and recreation and soil and water conservation. Applicants must be Missouri residents from any county or city in the state who are or plan to be enrolled as an undergraduate at a Missouri college or university in the chosen discipline of study.  Preference will be given to individuals with a demonstrated financial need.  Applications and supporting materials must be submitted by January 31.  Applications can be found online at http://www.conservemo.org/ed-stegner-natural-resource-scholarship.html

 

Vantage Credit Union: Quest for Education Scholarship

QFE Scholarship applications become available in September and are awarded the following spring. We award twenty $1,000 scholarships to young members who qualify, to be paid to the recipients’ chosen accredited college or university at the time of fall registration. One scholarship is awarded per recipient, and funds can be used for books and tuition. Any Vantage Credit Union member who is a graduating high school senior and a primary account holder may apply for our QFE scholarship. If you’re not a member, you may open an account and become eligible to apply. Application information is available in the counselor’s office or on-line at vcu.com/qfe. Completed applications are due before January 5.

 

United States JCI Senate Foundation

The United States JCI Senate Foundation awards $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the United States who plan to continue their education at accredited post-secondary colleges, universities or vocational schools. The Missouri JCI Senate will pick two nominees to represent Missouri for the US JCI Senate scholarships.  The Missouri JCI Senate will present these 2 winners each a $250 scholarship.  There will be four $250 scholarships given.  This is available to Missouri residents only. The application form can be downloaded from: http://www.usjcisenate.org/programs/scholarship

Wellsville-Middletown Young Farmers Scholarship

Scholarships are available for seniors who have completed a high school Family and Consumer Science class. Priority will be given to a student who plans to attend a college, university, or trade school and continue his/her education in a field related to family and consumer science. Applications are available on-line through the school webpage. Applications are due January 12.

 

Edward Lampe Scholarship

This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her education beyond high school. Preference will be given to FFA members. Applications are available on-line through the school webpage. The counselor has information regarding Mr. LampeApplications are due January 12.

 

 Richard Kriz Scholarship

This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her education beyond high school. Particular emphasis will be given to students entering an agriculture related field. Applications are available on-line through the school webpage. Applications are due January 12.

 

Danny Beshears Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her education beyond high school. Students should show positive educational progress and scholastic ability; be involved in school and community activities and show positive attitude, character, citizenship and competence. Students must complete the W-M R-1 Scholarship Application and identify the Danny Beshears Memorial Scholarship. The W-M R-1 Scholarship Application is available on-line through the school webpage. Applications are due January 26.

 

Community Teachers’ Association Scholarship

Scholarships are available for students attending colleges and universities with particular emphasis on students interested in pursuing advanced studies in education. Students must complete the W-M R-1 Scholarship Application and identify the Community Teachers’ Association Scholarship. The W-M R-1 Scholarship Application is available on-line through the school webpage. Applications are due January 26.

 

Barbara Peery Scholarship

This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her education beyond high school. Students must complete the W-M R-1 Scholarship Application and identify the Barbara Peery Scholarship. Hallie and Evelyn Penn Scholarship

This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her education beyond their senior year of high school. Students must complete the W-M R-1 Scholarship Application and identify the Hallie and Evelyn Penn Scholarship. The W-M R-1 Scholarship Application is available on-line through the school webpage. Applications are due January 26.

 

Larry Schwendker Scholarship

This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her education beyond high school. Particular emphasis will be given to students with great financial need. Students must complete the W-M R-1 Scholarship Application and identify the Larry Schwendker Scholarship. The W-M R-1 Scholarship Application is available on-line through the school webpage. Applications are due January 26.

 

 Harold and Alice Hayes Scholarship

This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her education beyond high school. Students should show positive educational progress and scholastic ability be involved in school and community activities, and show positive attitude, character, citizenship and competence. Students must complete the W-M R-1 Scholarship Application and identify the Harold and Alice Hayes Scholarship. The W-M R-1 Scholarship Application is available on-line through the school webpage. Montgomery County Kustoms and Classics Car Club

This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her education beyond high school. Students must complete the W-M R-1 Scholarship Application and identify the Montgomery County Kustoms and Classics Car Club Scholarship. The W-M R-1 Scholarship Application is available on-line through the school webpage. Applications are due January 26.

 

James L. and Nellie M. Westlake Scholarship

To apply, students must be Missouri residents. They must also be graduating high school seniors from a public or private high school in Missouri and planning to enroll in a four-year college or university. Students’ families should have an adjusted gross income of $50,000 or less. Applications are available in December and found at http://sms.scholarshipamerica.org/westlake/application.html. Applications must be submitted by February 1.

 

The Missouri State Fair Foundation Youth in Agriculture Scholarship 

Application for current Missouri high school seniors is available online at Missouri State Fair and Missouri State Fair Foundation websites. Applicants must be high school seniors and active members of 4-H or FFA. Eligible scholarship applicants must plan to enroll in an accredited Missouri college or university and pursue a degree in agriculture.  Applicants must have participated as a 4-H or FFA exhibitor at the Missouri State Fair at least once; however, applicants cannot have sold livestock in a past Missouri State Fair Sale of Champions auction. Applications should be submitted to the Missouri State Fair and must be postmarked by Feb. 1.

 

 

 

National FFA Scholarship

Scholarships are sponsored by businesses and individuals through the National FFA Foundation and are given for a wide variety of experiences, career goals and higher education plans. The selection process takes into account the whole student - FFA involvement, work experience, Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE), community service, leadership skills and academics. The scholarship application will be available online from November 15 to 5:00 p.m. EST February 1. (Required Signature Page must be mailed postmarked no later than February 8.)

 

Leta Mae Hildebrand Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship opportunity is open to seniors majoring in agriculture, veterinary medicine or other related field. If no student plans to major in one of the previous mentioned areas another applicant will be chosen. Applications are due February 2.

 

 Ed and Elsie Lair Scholarship

This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her education beyond high school. Seniors must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above at the end of their first semester of their senior year to be eligible to apply. Applications are available on-line through the school webpage. Applications are due February 9.

 

Missouri Corn Scholarship

High school applicants must be Missouri residents from a Missouri farm or rural area. They must also plan to attend a two-year or four-year Missouri college or university and major in agronomy (or related subject).  The scholarship funds will apply toward the freshman year of college expenses for high school senior winners. Applications for the program will be available on or before December 15. Applications can be found online at http://www.mocorn.org/resources/education/scholarships/. The application deadline is February 10. 

 

  Dr. Darrell "Jack" Holley/M.U.S.I.C. Scholarship

The Missouri United School Insurance Council is providing this scholarship opportunity to high school seniors wanting to continue their education after high school. Applications must be returned to the guidance counselor before February 10.

 

Montgomery County Farmers & Laborers’ Mutual Insurance Scholarship

Farmers’ and Laborers’ is offering a $500.00 scholarship to graduating seniors. Students must reside in Montgomery County. Applications must be returned to Mr. Blaue before February 16.

 

Middletown Athletic Association Scholarship

This scholarship is open to any senior who participated in athletics during their high school career and plans to continue their education at a four year or two year college, or technical school. Applications are on-line through the school webpage and are due February 23.

 

Martinsburg Farmers Elevator

Martinsburg Farmers Elevator, Martinsburg and Wellsville, is offering a scholarship opportunity for graduating seniors. Preference will be given to students majoring in an agriculture related field. Applications are available on-line through the school webpage. Applications must be returned before February 23.

 

Missouri 4-H Foundation Scholarships

The Missouri 4-H Foundation offers educational scholarships for 4-H youth and former 4-H members pursuing post-secondary study.

Sixty scholarships are available, each ranging from $500 to $2,500. One scholarship application permits the applicant to be considered for any available scholarship, subject to conditions specified by the donor. Applications can be found online at http://4h.missouri.edu/recognition/scholarships/. Applications are accepted after January 1 and are due with a postmark date of March 1.

   

National Farm Kids for College Scholarship

The competition is open to high school seniors who plan to pursue agriculture-related degrees from accredited colleges or universities. Based on competitive selection, judges choose three national scholarship winners in the spring of each year. All three winners receive $1,000 each. This is a non-renewable, college freshman scholarship. Applications are due March 1.

Knights of Columbus Council 1270 Scholarship

This scholarship is open to any prospective graduate of Wellsville-Middletown High School. He/She must have definite plans to further their education beyond high school. The student must also be a professing Christian. The selection committee will consider applicant’s scholastic achievement, financial need, participation and leadership in school and community activities, citizenship, moral character and educational goals. Applications are available on-line through the school webpage. Applications are due March 2.

 

Missouri Association of Rural Education Scholarship

The goals of the M.A.R.E. Scholarship are to attract quality students to enroll in teacher education programs in a Missouri College or University. Also, attract intelligent, energetic individuals to furnish leadership skills in rural communities. Scholarship recipients will be selected on their academic achievement, leadership qualities, and interest in teaching in a rural school system. Applications are available on-line through the school webpage. Completed applications must be postmarked by March 9.

 

MFA Foundation Scholarship-Montgomery City

This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her education beyond high school. Students should show positive educational progress and scholastic ability be involved in school and community activities, and show positive attitude, character, citizenship and competence. Applications are available on-line through the school webpage. Applications are due March 9.

 

Missouri Bankers Foundation Scholarship

The Missouri Bankers Foundation Scholarship Fund is designed to encourage college-level study for young people who are interested in pursuing a career in the field of banking. The Willis W. Alexander Scholarship and the John W. Rogers Memorial Scholarship have been established to honor the achievements of Missouri bankers and to help prepare the next generation of Missouri banking leaders. Onetime scholarships are in the amount of $500 each. The application can be found at http://www.mobankers.com and must be returned before March 10.

 

 

Fern Braden-Audrain Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship

The Auxiliary Scholarship fund began with a bequest from Fern Braden and is supported by funds from the AMC Auxiliary. The purpose is to help area women or men obtain an education in a medical field. Applications shall be submitted along with two letters of recommendation, a recent photograph and official school transcripts. Applications are available on-line through the school webpage. Applications are due before March 15.

 

Griffin Family Foundation Scholarship Program

Scholarships are available for students attending vocational and technical schools, colleges and universities with particular emphasis on students interested in pursuing advanced studies in nursing, health related occupations medical occupations and education. Applications are available on-line through the school webpage. Applications are due March 15.

 

Montgomery County Rotary Club Scholarship

This scholarship is open to any twelfth grade student wanting to continue his/her education beyond their senior year. Applications are available on-line through the school webpage. Applications are due March 15.

 

Robert Michael Pritchett Engineering Scholarship

This scholarship is open to any twelfth grade student wanting to continue his or her education at the University of Missouri Columbia or Missouri S&T at Rolla. Applications are available from Mr. Blaue and are due March 16.

 

Victor E. Kohl Scholarship

This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her education beyond high school. Students should show positive educational progress and scholastic ability be involved in school and community activities, and show positive attitude, character, citizenship and competence. Applications are available on-line through the school webpage. Applications are due March 16.

 

American Bank of Missouri Scholarship

This scholarship is open to any senior wanting to continue his/her education beyond their senior year of high school. Applications are available on-line through the school webpage. Applications are due March 16.

 

Experimental Aircraft Association Mid MO Chapter Aviation Scholarship

This scholarship is open to any senior planning to enroll as a full time student at an accredited post-high school institution and majoring in aviation. Applications are available from the high school guidance counselor are due before March 16.

 

Kelsey Higgenbotham Community Scholarship

This scholarship is open to a graduating senior who plans to further his/her education at a university, college, technical or vocational school. Students should show positive educational progress and scholastic ability be involved in school and community activities, and show positive attitude, character, citizenship and competence. Applications are due March 22.

 

Masonic Lodge Scholarship

This scholarship is open to any senior with at least a 3.0 GPA or above and planning to enroll as a full time student at an accredited college or university located in the United States. Applications are available from Mr. Blaue and are due March 28.

 

Ruth Lutes Bachmann Scholarship (Masonic Lodge Scholarship): This scholarship is available for students wanting to become nurses or teachers. This scholarship opportunity is available for students enrolling as a full time student at an accredited college or university in the United States.

           

Masonic Merit Scholarship (Masonic Lodge Scholarship): This scholarship opportunity is available for students enrolling as a full time student at an accredited college or university in the United States.

 

Bobby Stoddard Memorial Scholarship:

This scholarship is open to Wellsville-Middletown students planning to further their formal education. In the selection process, priority will be given to students continuing their formal education in an emergency service career field. Also children or grandchildren of an emergency service worker will receive selection priority.  Applications are due before March 29.

 

 

Stephanie Kemp Memorial Scholarship

Stephanie Kemp graduated from Wellsville-Middletown R-1 in 2005. She was an exceptional person who had a true zest for life. She participated in many extra-curricular activities in high school. She worked while she attended junior college and, later, business college where she completed her degree. Stephanie touched many people with her smile and her laughter until her accidental death on September 18, 2015. Stephanie’s family is making this application open to any graduating senior at Wellsville-Middletown R-1 High School who will be attending an institution or program to further their education. Scholarship applicants must have an accumulative GPA of 2.50 and show emphasis on extracurricular participation, work experience and/or a combination of both. Applications are due March 29.

 

Missouri Insurance Education Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship opportunity is available to Missouri graduating high school seniors who will be full-time students in an accredited Missouri college or university and with an interest or intent of pursing an insurance, risk management, or actuarial science course of study.  Applications are available from the high school counselor and must be returned by March 31.

 

United Credit Union Scholarship

This scholarship opportunity is being offered by the United Credit Union in Mexico, Missouri. Seniors applying for this scholarship must be a member of the credit union and planning to attend a school for advanced education. Selection criteria will be based on a 2.75 overall GPA or higher, good citizenship, leadership characteristics, school and community activities. Applications are available on-line or from Mr. Blaue. Applications are due March 31.

 

Montgomery County Farm Bureau Agricultural Scholarship

The Montgomery County Farm Bureau will award one $500 scholarship to a student pursuing appropriate certification in a field related to and supportive of agriculture. The recipient must be enrolled as a full-time student for the fall semester of the year in which the scholarship is awarded. The recipient or their parent(s) or guardians must also hold a current Farm Bureau membership. Applications are due by March 31.

 

Agrilegacy Tomorrow Agricultural Scholarship

This scholarship program supports individuals looking to further their education in the field of agriculture. Applicants must be studying an ag-related field and have a 2.5 or high grade point average. Complete applications are due before April 1.  

 

Future Business Leaders of America

This scholarship is based on active membership and participation in the Wellsville-Middletown R-1 FBLA, accumulative GPA, and the number of business classes completed. Applications are due April 4.

 

Music Boosters Scholarship

This scholarship opportunity is available to a senior who plans to further their education after high school and has participated in the band or vocal music program at Wellsville-Middletown High School.   Applications are available from the music department and are due April 4.

 

Don and Larue McMurty Scholarship

This scholarship is open to any senior athlete wanting to continue his/her education beyond high school. Students should show positive educational progress and scholastic ability be involved in school and community activities, and show positive attitude, character, citizenship and competence. Applications are available on-line through the school webpage. Applications are due April 5.

 

Wellsville-Middletown Athletic Booster Scholarship

Applicants must have participated and completed the season in at least one school sponsored sport each year of their public high school attendance. Applications are on-line through the school webpage and due April 6.

 

Callaway-Montgomery Cattlemen’s Association Scholarship

This scholarship opportunity is available to high school seniors or full-time college students. Applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or better. Preference will be shown, but not required, to Missouri residents that are paid active members of the Missouri Junior Cattlemen’s or the parent/legal guardian who is a paid active member of the Missouri Cattlemen’s Association. Preference may also be given to students enrolled in an agricultural related field.  Applications are due by March 15.

 

Kenneth L. Short Memorial Scholarship

Each year in memory of Kenneth L. Short, founder of Opaa! Food Management Inc., the company awards $1000 scholarship to a graduating high school senior from a school district currently served by Opaa! Eligible students must enroll in an accredited college or university and demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in the food service/hospitality industry. Selection criteria include academic achievement; work experiences; and participation in student, school, and community activities. VFW Ladies Auxiliary Scholarship

The ladies of the VFW Auxiliary will be giving a yearly scholarship to a student from Wellsville-Middletown R-1. Eligible applicants must be a descendent of a person who served in the military. He or she must also be continuing their education at a vocational school, college or university.  Applications are on-line through the school webpage and due April 11.

American Legion Scholarships

The American Legion continues to offer the Need a Lift? scholarship and financial aid information guide. The guide covers a number of topics relating to college selection and financial aid sources. The guide can be found at www.legion.org/needalift.

 

Lillie Lois Ford Scholarship

This scholarship opportunity is available to any senior boy who has attended the American Legion Boys State of Missouri or a full session of the Department’s Cadet Patrol Academy. A second award is given to a girl who has attended a full session of the American Legion Auxiliary’s Girls State program or a full session of the Department’s Cadet Patrol Academy. Applications are due April 12.

 

M.D. “Jack” Murphy Memorial Nurses Training

This award is available to a Missouri boy or girl training to be a Registered Nurse, and may be used in their freshman or subsequent college years. The student must have graduated in the top forty percent of their high school class or have a “C” or equivalent standing from their last college or university semester. Applications are due April 12.

 

            Joseph J. Frank Scholarship

Applicants must have attended a full session of the American Legion Boys or Girls State and be a descendant of a member of the American Legion. Applications are due April 12.

 

Charles L. Bacon

To be eligible for this scholarship an individual must be a current member of the American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary, or the Sons of the American Legion, or a descendant of a member of any thereof. Applications are due April 12.

 

Erman W. Taylor Memorial

To be eligible for this scholarship an individual must be a descendant of a veteran who served 90 or more days of active duty in the armed forces and having an honorable discharge, be a Missouri resident, use the award as full-time student at an accredited college or university, provide a copy of the discharge certificate for the veteran on whose the application is made, and submit an essay of 500 words or less on the subject, In your opinion, what was the most significant world event of 2015/2016. Applications are due April 12.

 

 

NAIFA Mid Missouri Academic Scholarship

Applicants must write an essay based the following topic, “The Importance of Financial Planning.” The essay must be typed and at least one page in length not more than two pages. Applications are due April 14.

 

Better Business Bureau Serving Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois Student of Ethics Scholarship Program

Better Business Bureau Serving Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois Student of Ethics Scholarship Program recognize juniors in high school who personify high ethics demonstrated through leadership, community service, overall personal integrity, and academic history. Four students will be selected by an independent panel of judges to receive scholarships of $2,500 each, sent on their behalf to any accredited college or trade school of their choice. The scholarship must be used within three years of receiving the award, and will be distributed to the student's college or trade school upon verification of enrollment. The scholarship must be applied toward school-related expenses, including: tuition, books, room and board, or other related items. Award certificates will be presented to recipient students at BBB's TORCH Awards event in October, and scholarship money will be sent to the colleges or trade schools after the students enroll. BBB will pay for the student to attend this luncheon banquet and will provide two additional tickets for the student's parents or guests.
